Summary/Abstract: Motivation is considered to be the strongest factor for the effective vocational learning. The most important task for a vocation teacher is to inspire wish for learning in their students due to a very simple reason: if they are reluctant to learn, they will learn nothing and will leave school with no relevant vocational competences. The authors of the article analyse the reasons of student disposition or indisposition to learning. The problem relevant to this research is inconsistency among the following aspects: vocational training curriculum and student learning needs; vocational teaching/learning methods, learner achievements and teaching/learning environment, and student learning motivation. The precondition for effective solution to this problem is the answer to the questions that are the background for the problem solution. What is the conception of motive and motivation in the context of vocational training? What are the reasons of student disposition or indisposition to learning? Is the curriculum relevant to student learning needs? Are the teaching/learning methods motivating? Do they influence learning achievements? Does the environment stimulate learning motivation? The identified reasons for disposition or indisposition to learning will help to solve the problems or forester vocational training in Kaunas Forestry and Environmental Engineering College.
