Considerations on Romania’s Participation in the Great War

Summary/Abstract: The greatest political success in the whole history of the Romanian people was due to a assortment of factors which shaped the achievement of Greater Romania: the attrition war during the first two years 1914-1916, which determined the leader of both sides to negotiate with Ion I.C. Brătianu as equal parts, the importance of Old Kingdom as provider of vital raw materials, the military and political convention of 4th/17th August 1917, which assured the necessary war materials to the Romanian army, and finally the absence of Russia from the Peace Conference in Paris in 1919 - 1920.
