Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article was to attempt to assess the level of learning outcomes common to professions related to occupational health and safety, a professionally oriented foreign language, business start-up, and personal and social competences. This is due to the objectives of vocational training, which task is to prepare learners to live in the conditions of the modern world, to per form professional work and to function in the changing labor market actively. More and more employers expect not only specific education confirmed by a document, but also some skills connected with functioning in the workplace in everyday practice from candidates. Hence, there are learning outcomes common to all professions that are part of professional competences and they acquire special significance. The results and conclusions of the pilot study were presented. They will constitute a premise for further research that are relevant in the process of supporting the quality and effectiveness of school in the shaping students’ professional competences in first-degree industry schools.
