OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN THE TRANSFORMATION OF ECONOMY AND SOCIETY IN SERBIA

Summary/Abstract: Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the key technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which is is now in its acceleration. The subject of this paper is to reAIew and analyze the situation, conditions, investments and potential impact of AI on the economy and society globally, in the EU and in Serbia. Thepower of penetration of AI into various areas of the economy is almost inexhaustible. There is a huge range of applications of AI that can significantly improve and improve the business. However, the impact of AI does not come down to improvng the way we do business or speeding up the production or exchange process. AI is a technology that is radical in nature, hence highly disruptive. It is a technology of general purpose that can contribute to significant progress and improvement in all areas of economics and social life. The introduction of AI into different sectors of the economy is revolutionizing. AI not only changes the intensity or pace of change, but it also invadesthe essence of the business concept, breaking down established business and production relationships and organizing work, and establishing itself as a new standalone and dynamic factor of production. The aim of the paper is to identify the extent to which AI can contribute to economic and social transformation, in terms of opportunities and challenges that AI poses to the economy and society as a whole, globally, as well as to proAIde insight into the state and perspective of development in the EU and Serbia. Based on the results of the analysis given in the paper, it is concluded that there are huge opportunities in the development and application of AI to drive the growth and development of the economy in societies, both globally and in Serbia. The paper also highlights the challenges and difficulties that society faces, and in this respect the need to define an adequate ethical and legal framework is emphasized, as well as to develop a series of measures and guidelines that will enable optimal and sustainable development based on the implementation of AI.
