Summary/Abstract: The study analyses two visions upon the Existence: the metaphysical and the theological one. To put it into Mircea Eliade’s words, the first vision concerns the Profane, whereas the second targets the Sacred. I outline – in each vision – three entities that are being considered to be “wonders”, even nowadays. For Metaphysics they are Existence itself, the Human Person and Conscience. In Christian Theology they are comprised in the dogma of the Holy Trinity made of The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The analysis underlines both the consonances and differences between the two visions and – as a corollary – presents a synthesis based on four theoretical criteria: a) at the logical and ontological level there stands the General–Particular–Individual (G–P–I) relationship; b) at the level of the connections between entities or between their hypostases there is the relationship on Inherence, which is ignored by most theorists; c) at the psychological and axiological level we deal with the difference between Certainty (C1), Conviction (C2) and Creed (C3), which are counterpointed by Doubt; d) both visions – the metaphysical and the theological one – aim ultimately at the Infinity. But Infinity still remains, for both visions, an open issue that will be tackled in the upcoming volume “The Metaphysics of Sensibility”.
