Summary/Abstract: Whenever two cultures meet on a literary level, a fascinating exchange of ideas and traditions emerges. This essay examines the relationship between the Russian poet Boris Pasternak and his German counterpart Rainer Maria Rilke. While the first section of this essay briefly outlines the historical and philosophical relationship between these two great poets, the second part consists of a brief examination and comparison of two of their works.
