Summary/Abstract: The robinia honey takes the first place, as preferences regarding honey consumption. Considering this, the concern of the producers for increasing the quantities to cover the needs on the market is permanently growing and rapid methods for quality control and adulteration detection are widely demanded by producers, processors, consumers and regulatory bodies. A first and essential step in any quality evaluation of honey is the identification of possible quality markers that can prove that Romanian robinia honey is a qualitative and competitive honey. Quality of honey depends on the plant source, the chemical composition of these plants as well, as on climatic conditions and soil mineral composition. We chose the main physicochemical quality parameters proposed by the European Directive concerning honey and by the International Honey Commission. The results obtained indicated good performance in terms of classification and prediction for both the European directive and IHC approaches.
