Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to gain a deeper understanding of the safety of the food supply, the relationship between traceability, liability and food safety, the growing complexity of the food chain, and the role of food ethics in production practices. Considerable research attention has focused on establishing a traceability system for animal feed, ensuring the microbiological and chemical safety and quality of food, traceability of food products, and the accuracy of traceability in the production process.
