Summary/Abstract: Purpose of Research. The purpose of the article is to analyse the productions of Ivan Franko's poem «Fox Mykyta» in Ukrainian theatres in the 2000-s. Methodology of Research. The methodology of the research is based on interdisciplinary approach, which allows us to use the achievements of the history of culture, musicology, theatrical studies, cultural studies, literary studies, etc. The author has used the following methods: a comparative method (to compare to compare the set design of performances and its interpretations in music-drama, puppet and opera theatres of Ukraine); a historical method (to analyse the history of writing the poem «Fox Mykyta»); a method of synthesis (to highlight the basic ethical and aesthetic ideas of the poem and performances «Fox Mykyta»). Scientific Novelty. The scientific novelty of the research is the analysis of the main productions of Ivan Franko's poem «Fox Mykyta» in the Ukrainian theatres of the 2000-s and their directorial interpretations. Conclusions. Thus, Ivan Franko's poem «Fox Mykyta» as one of the best examples of children's and satirical literature, which ridicules the basic flaws of social reality. It is interesting for the theatrical space of Ukraine, which is evidenced by the considerable number of productions of this work on the stages of the theatres of Cherkasy, Uzhgorod. , Lutsk and Lviv. I. Nebesnyi’s opera «Fox Mykyta» in the Lviv National Opera occupies a special place among other productions. It is characterized by the bivectoriality of the audience, which means the orientation to children as well as adults, and the unique stage design.
