Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to outline the expediency of using a collection of sketches for clarinet by S. Rigin in fostering the professionalism of future performers. The methodology of the study is based on the application of the source method – when developing different genre sources on a selected topic; analytical – to determine the genre-style and performance features of the analyzed sketches; special attention was paid to the method of personalization, which made it possible to outline the author’s contribution to the development of the pedagogical repertoire for the named instrument and the spiritual tradition in general. The scientific novelty of the work is the introduction into the scientific circulation of certain notographic material, analyzed for the first time, and the expression of its specific features. Conclusions. The collection of «Applicative Sketches for Clarinet» by S. Rigin is a significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian didactic literature for this instrument. The miniatures analyzed are aimed at developing technical skills, expressiveness of sound, unlocking the timbre potential of the instrument, which are quite voluminous in structure, which nurtures the endurance of young musicians. These signs make the proposed collection of sketches by S. Rigin in the pedagogical repertoire of clarinetists.
