Summary/Abstract: The name of Academician Ioan-Aurel Pop, former rector of Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca (2012-2020), currently President of the Romanian Academy, is well known today in the Romanian and international academic world, enjoying a unanimous appreciation at national and international level. He is one of the cultural figures of our times who recognizes the importance of the Faith and the Church in the lives of human communities and does not shy away from publicly confessing this, which has sometimes brought him vehement criticism from individuals in secularist-atheist society. However, Professor Ioan Aurel Pop presents in his speeches the historical truth about the role played by the Orthodox Church in the history of the Romanian Nation, as he does in the present interview given to reverend Ion Alexandru Mizgan.
