Summary/Abstract: In the Russian and Soviet linguistics a particularly large space has been devoted to the investigations of syntactic groups both from the point of view of form and semantics. Recently careful attention has been paid to the so called nominal syntactic groups, which become more and more visible in the language, and one can even see their dynamic development. In the specialistic literature a great number of articles and book sappear on this subject. The authors try to establish the reasons of such a phenomenon, define the structural types of given syntactic groups and make a semantic analysis. In his article the author gives the most productive types of nominal groups with various prepositions and word-formative bases o the main word (the noun proper or verbal noun). In this junction the author pays attention to the very essential semantic side of given structures, in other words to the semantic relationships obtaining between the main and the secondary (dependent) words. Next, the author comes to the synonymy of the discussed groups, which points to their linguistic specificity and to the wealth of structural and semantic possibilities.
