Summary/Abstract: The given article is a survey of works on Russian Literature of the first half of the 19th century published in Poland in the postwar period. They consist of numerous monographs published in the form of books and of the articles written in various literary magazines. Attention is given mainly to Krylov, Decembrists, Gogol and Belinskiy; Pushkin’s Eugene Onegin, Bronze Horseman and his prose works are thoroughly analysed there. Lermontov’s works analysed rather well factographically are still an unsolved problem. Some works which overestimate the accepted opinion, underline the importance of the Enlightment trend in Russia and, in connection with it, offer to shift the chronologi cal beginning of Romanticism to the first half of the 20’s of this century. Thus, these works widen the influence of Romanticism on the events which, as a rule, are not considered as belonging to this trend (as for instance Pushkin, Gogol, Belinskiy).
