THE HISTORY OF THE DERIVATION OF AR'-SUBSTANTIVAL NOUNS IN LITERARY RUSSIAN

Summary/Abstract: The article presents an attempt of structurally-functional approach to the history of the derivation of ar'-substantival nouns of literary Russian since the initial stages of Russian literature untill now. In various moments of the development of Russian noun derivation, a given type of it was either increasing or diminishing due to certain internal and external influences. Such elements as: the stylistic function o f ar'-lexemes, external borrowings and semantic specialization of derivatives based on one type of motivation played a significant role. The same concerns formative synonyms forcing out the mentioned derivatives or limiting the range of their derivation.
