Summary/Abstract: For the last fifty years literary Russian has borrowed a considerable number of English nounsin their written form. The article contains a short characteristic of lexico-semantic groups of borrowed nouns and the analysis of the following problems: the most important phonetic properties of these nouns, genetic types of phonetic structure, fluctuations in the phonemic content, place of accent, grammatical categories, derivation and phenomena connected with the reaction of the Russian lexico-semantic system to the borrowed words. The discussed nouns belong to the type of loans that lack morpheme substitution. This type of loans is the most characteristic of the Soviet period. Great diffusion of these nouns leads to the internationalization of the vocabulary.
