Summary/Abstract: In this article the story of the modern Soviet writer is analized. The originality of the story lies in the fact that the role of the narrator is notably limited while more attention is paid to the views of the main characters. This is effectively reflected in the style of the story. The writer presents a rather subjectivized image of the world allowing for different interpretations and involving the reader in this way. It is necessary to emphasize that the specificity of Krutilin’s story is an example of many formal experiments which has become distinctly apparent in modern Russian prose.
