Summary/Abstract: Beyond doubt, the period between 23 August-19 September 1944 was one full of bold actions, decisions, uncertainties. The shift of political powers from 23 August 1944 set Romania on a new path, however, obliged the army, already tired from the fights on the eastern front, to reposition strategically and physically to confront the new enemy. The back of the front became the front line and, until the arrival of the big units, instruction and border guard units fought here, over a front of tens of kilometres. These units insufficiently trained ensured with sacrifices maintaining the line of the front for almost two weeks. Though it was a hotspot of the front during those difficult times, Mirăslău was a case of the hundreds that occurred.
