Summary/Abstract: Achievements of potters belonging to Wietenberg culture represent a landmark in the development of the ceramic craft in the area of Transylvania; this was represented by a typological variety, quality of shaping and, especially, the richness of decorum by which symbols of spiritual life are transposed on ceramics.Processing a part of the archaeological material discovered at Șibot - Obreje, in the archaeological campaigns from 2015 and 2017, underlined a significant number of technological markers that revealed the stages of operations underwent to model different types of recipients. The fragmentation manner allowed emphasising modelling in the coil-building and slab-building techniques as well as a series of methods used to form or mount some morphological elements. It was highlighted staged modelling that alternates erecting the walls with periods of drying longer or shorter. In parallel, there could be noticed the usage of the same methods of putting into practice applied for vessels of similar shapes, yet of varied dimensions. Techniques and stages of operations suggested by analysis of the archaeological material were confirmed with the aid of paleo technological experiments by which was attempted shaping some vessels similar to the archaeologic pieces.
