Summary/Abstract: This essay examines the four volumes that Georges Poulet devotes to the study of the concept of time by analyzing a very large body of authors, ranging from the mid-1500s to the twentieth century. In particular, this study focuses on five figures - Blaise Pascal, Denis Diderot, Stéphane Mallarmé, Paul Valéry, Pierre Reverdy - thanks to which the author tries to bring out some dominant thematic lines of Poulet's reflection.
