Summary/Abstract: In this work, several editions of the story Palle Alone in the World, translated by Ivan Esih, are compared for differences in the grammatical and orthographic norms. The authors attempt to confirm acceptability of such translations in studying changes that occur in the standard idioms and points out the most significant changes at the level of the grammatical and orthographic of the standard Croatian language.
