Summary/Abstract: This study reveals the relationship between the characteristics of psychomotor development and speech delay. The fundamental components of psychomotricity, the body scheme and the basic motor coordination influence the more complex structuralisation of functions such as psychomotor coordination and organization of psychomotor actions. The maturity of these functions is a prerequisite for the success of the reading-writing learning processes.
