Summary/Abstract: Staff recruitment and selection methods have a direct impact on companies' performance, which is why the latter are developing complex strategies precisely to ensure high quality and productivity of work. Because they are linked to the requirements of the labor market (with direct reference to candidates' needs), recruitment and selection are involved in a long process of adapting to the results of information technology. The beginning of the third millennium marks an explosion in the development of software products dedicated to the labor market. Given that a job is a click away via using the internet, job seekers come in direct (virtual) contact with employers. Information within the job description, such as the requirements that candidates must fulfill in order to be able to apply, the job responsibilities, or even the benefits are available in the online environment. However, not all employers prefer to publish information regarding the salary offered or even the an interval. Because the wages offered in the IT industry are a strong point in the employment strategy, they are published more frequently in online job advertisements, unlike other industries, where wages are being discussed or negotiated in an interview. Thus, this research focuses only on the IT industry, in the context in which the main objective of the research is to identify the keywords in the published job advertisements in the online environment and to quantify their economic value (it is essential for the research that a salary range to be associated with the employment ads analyzed).
