Summary/Abstract: Economic policies that have opted in the historical process of Turkey on the establishment of the republic is separated from the Ottoman Empire period taken into consideration. Economic policies of the Republican period were transformed by being affected by the changes occurring in the world. During 1929 World crisis and World War II. introverted industrialization model who prefer Turkey during the crisis, and after the war, has implemented a liberal economic policy. After 1960, a closed-back but developmental economic policy has been implemented and it is aimed to produce imported foreign-dependent investment and intermediate goods within the country. After 1980, the export-oriented production model was adopted and liberalization movements were preferred in all areas. Purpose of this study that taking into account periods of change and transformation of Turkey to examine the economic policy development process and to analyze the effects it has left today. In this context, it was preferred to conduct an analysis based on literature review and secondary data. In the findings of this study, it was determined that the budget deficits and the current account deficit increased in different periods as a result of the economic policies pursued. In addition, it is observed that the policies implemented during these periods of deficits were under the pressure of exchange rates and interest rates. Obviously, economic policies have been focused on solving the liquidity problem of the economy instead of providing employment and increasing production. As a result of these policies, import-dependent production and consumption structure has formed. Economic growth based on production and productivity has replaced by consumption based economic growth that does not provide employment.
