Maternal love in the prose of Georgy Raychev – identity and problems

Summary/Abstract: The text interprets the concepts of faith, reason, love and madness in the context of several stories written by Georgy Raychev. At the same time, the author draws attention to the intertextual connections that Raychev`s prose builds in order to explain the problematic side of motherhood. Although the emphasis is on the story “Mother`s Faith”, the study goes beyond it to seek an explanation for the dramatic conflicts that the mother`s soul goes through while standing on the verge of madness.
