Summary/Abstract: The process of transcribing polyphonic works for accordion requires the observance of some rules regarding the changes of the musical text, related to the substitution of various elements of the creation or even the renunciation of some of them, depending on the specificity of the instrument. In this article, the author refers to the most common methods of transcription for accordion from the aspects of the accordion sound, tempo, hatches, accents, ornaments to problems of handling the bellows and others) and to the peculiarities of approaching this process, conditioned by these specific aspects. These problems are current today, in the context of a very rapid completion of the academic repertoire for accordion with works written in the original for other instruments (organ, piano, etc.), performed successfully on this instrument that is quickly asserting itself in this domain.
