Summary/Abstract: In this article we will analyze how different renowned vocalists treat the central female roles in veristic works. We will highlight certain particularities of the voice, and especially the type of falcon voice, which involves the interpretation of different female roles in veristic operas such as „Tosca” by G. Puccini, „Fedora” by U. Giordano or „Adriana Lecouvreur” by Cilea. We will analyze the performance of such singers as Ana Netrebko, Angela Gheorghiu, Maria Guleghina, Elena Obraztsova, Maria Bieșu.
