Summary/Abstract: Among the weak or unexplored problems of modern historiography, a special place is occupied by the history of the Russian state’s noble families of foreign origin. They fully belong to the history of Moldovan generis of the Russian nobility. This paper, based on extensive factual material, published documents and archival sources, for the first time attempts to identify and characterize the main ways of occurrence and formation of the Moldavian noblemen of the Russian Empire during the 18-th century, and also, to highlight their role and place in the administrative, political and military system of the Russian state.
