Summary/Abstract: This article presents the importance of rhetorical competence with regard tonew job prospects for graduates of foreign languages. The rhetorical competence, in thiscontext, is outlined as a key qualification for a job/profession application especially in thesectors of service and information. To attain our objective, both the oral and written coursesyllabi included in the curriculum of BA in foreign language is considered. Last but not least,some concepts and suggestions for promoting rhetorical competence in foreign languageteaching at universities and high schools will be discussed with this framework.
