Summary/Abstract: The paper aims to analyze the attitude of the media towards crime and delinquency, and the impact of media on criminal and delinquent behavior, further, the impact of media on fear of crime, the impact of media on the distorted picture of crime and delinquency, and violation of the principle of presumption of innocence by the media.The paper emphasizes the need for conducting research in Macedonia on this issue in order to determine the key issues of the relationship between the media and crime and delinquency, which will then result in a system of measures to prevent the negative impact of the media on criminal behavior. The authors of the paper conclude that the media will not stop reporting on crime and delinquency, yet the findings presented in this paper regarding the negative impact of the media on criminal behavior, should be taken into account before reporting in the media. In future they should not be guided by the famous saying, 'If it bleeds, it leads,' when designing the editorial policy. And the Code of Journalists should be imperative in their professional work.
