Summary/Abstract: This review presents the book entitled Trei ani din viaţa mea (1986–1989), din dosarele Securităţii (Three Years of My Life (1986–1989), from the Files of the Romanian Secret Police), authored by engineer Pompiliu Manea and published in 2014 by Mediamira Publishing House from Cluj Napoca, Romania. The author briefly mentions some biographical data to show how he became the head of the Cluj County Workshop for Maintenance and Repair of Medical Equipment – AJIRAM and the preofes sional responsibilities undertaken therein. Subsequently, the author renders his personal file found in the Archives of the Romanian Secret Police – Securitatea, making clarifications wherever necessary. The discovery of his own state security file was accidental, being made in 2012 while documenting the files of other members of his own family. By perusing the book, one can take notice of the methods employed by the Romanian Secret Police to investigate the activities of Romanian and for eign citizens and to keep them under observation.
