Summary/Abstract: The romafuturist manifesto written by Mihaela Drăgan was published in the magazine Cutra in Romanian language and was translated into Hungarian by Nóra Ugron. The notion of romafuturism was coined by Drăgan; she defined it during an artistic residency in Hong Kong; the manifesto presents the connection between the Roma culture, technology and witchness. Similarly to afrofuturism, romafuturism re-analysis the history by looking at the relationship of technology and ethnic minority; it also focuses on how to heal transgenerational traumas. The manifesto merges elements of science fiction, fantasy, magical realism, history, magic and technology in order to imagine a future that is fair and is not nurtured by the painful past.
