Summary/Abstract: The correspondence between Father Justinian Chira and the poet Ioan Alexandru, from 1966-1980, includes hundreds of letters, a consistent collection, rich in historical events, style figures, ideas and reflections. The two correspondents maintained a special epistolary connection, a perfect friendship, they had common points about faith in God, the social vision of life, but especially an invaluable interest in poetry, reading and the written word. The article aims to reflect the vision of the two on the village, its importance in their formation and becoming, the place that the village, the Romanian soil and the country occupy in shaping the personalities, from the perspective of the correspondence and the age of the two.
