Summary/Abstract: The article takes issues regarding active social policy towards families with many children. This will present the fundamental aspects of social assistance and social work in favor of large families. Large families is a term that is defined differently in the literature. This depends on the object of interest of the scientific sub-discipline, the theoretical criteria or research approach. Differentiated understanding of these concepts is on the ground of social policy, demography, sociology, psychology and pedagogy. The common element of these shots is treating large family as the basic unit of society, having the right to appropriate social, legal, economic protection. The problem of the active social policy towards large families is presented in the context of the following issues: 1. Social policy towards large families understood as a matter of state investment in human capital; 2 Social assistance and social work towards large families; 3. Assistance strategy for a large family.
