Summary/Abstract: In this paper we focus on the modular structures in the industrial, environmental and in graphic design. A module is part of a system that can be changed without disturbing the functionality and integrity of the system, parts and dimensions by repetition give unity and continuity. For users, modularity offers diversity, lower costs, easier maintenance and plenty of possibilities to refresh, update, and add new parts. In graphic design and media, modularity offers visual unity, it’s a creative method but also helps in organizing ideas for designers.
