Summary/Abstract: It is considered that premenstrual and/or menstrual symptoms have tendency of worsening in the age function, but there’s just a few research regarding this problem. This research tried to examine the differences between the symptoms of menstrual distress in menstrual and premenstrual phase as well as in the rest of the cycle, considering the age of subjects. It was hypothesized that age will condition intensity of some perimenstrual symptoms. Total 193 women subjects, with regular menstrual cycle, age 17 to 45, separated in two groups (≥25 and <25 years old) filled the C form of Menstrual Distress Questionnaire (MDQ). Younger and older woman subjects differed from each other significantly on four of total eight subscales of MDQ; pain, autonomic reactions, negative affect and control, which confirmed hypothesis that somewhat older women subjects will subjectively have lower tolerance on perimenstrual symptoms.
