Summary/Abstract: The totality of visible and imaginable worlds can become the object and subject of a representation, this may be a definition of the figurative concept. Figurative art presents itself as a reference to the visible reality, and can not be conceived as itself a servile imitation of reality. Textile artists have deepened the figurative over time and have oscillated between the two concepts over the last two centuries. Ritmity, deepening one of them, highlighting another are oscillations specific to the environment, time, cultural, social and political state.
