Summary/Abstract: In their analysis, the authors build upon several premises of a contextual nature and truths validated by the social-historical practice, succeeding in defining the three key concepts of the dissertation: transcendent-transcendence, immanent-immanence, religious belief. While pointing out the antithesis between the first two concepts, the authors frequently make use of the philosophic syntagm “emergence”, a term that is closer to the immanent nature and the immanence of religious beliefs rather than the transcendent nature thereof. As a spiritual and cultural phenomenon, and as a structural part of religion and religiousness, religious beliefs have an immanent nature. As far as the definition of the fundamental concept of the dissertation – religious beliefs – is concerned, the authors consider that this is the core element of religion and religiousness, religion itself being designated by some theologists as a system of beliefs about the sacred. The authors further deal with the definition of the belief, both from a scientific-psychological and a theological point of view, while largely discussing the transcendent and the immanent nature of the religious belief, which is strongly influenced by social and psychological elements.
