Summary/Abstract: A textual passage depicting the anthropological, psychoanalytical, and artistic contexts of anthropophagy – a crucial motif of Brazilian culture and local transformations of subjectivity. The question of devouring the Other – symbolic cannibalism – is also a key to understanding the practices of anthropologists “consuming” otherness and appropriating it for their purposes.
