Summary/Abstract: The author based on the available literature analysed the terrorist thretglobally, in Europe and Poland. He presented the genesis of terrorism, directions ofdevelopment, and threats in the modern world. He attempted to present the causes ofterrorist activity on a political, religious, civilisation, cultural and social basis.
