E-LEARNING IN BUILDING PRACTICAL SKILLS

Summary/Abstract: The development of professional habits and skills in a real learning environment is a well-established and classical form that gives its results in the preparation of capable and competent staff. But, whether e-learning would be so effective in creating and validating practical skills is a question with many unknowns. How the tools of e-learning can be useful in conducting practical education? At what stage of development of practical skills is e-learning appropriate? Are the acquired knowledge and skills of the students lasting? Is the education system ready to meet the challenge of e-learning to the practical education of healthcare professionals? To all these and related questions, we have to find the answers, through a thorough analysis and pedagogically sound experimental approach of action. This report aims to present experimentally conducted innovative teaching methods whose direction is to build manual skills in the students in the specialty ―Medical aesthetic care‖ in a distance learning environment. E-tools and technologies could be adapted and used for the needs of the practical education. The precision in their application, depending on the specifics of the studied material, can help the development of the learning process and the build of good practical skills in the students. Their use could improve practical education, but not displace it from the actual learning environment, but only complement it
