Summary/Abstract: In contemporary historiography the historical press is recognized as a very important source of information on various aspects of life in a particular social community. Although the printing activity in Zenica appears relatively late, both in comparison with other cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and even more so in the wider regional, European and world context, there is still a long tradition of publishing newspapers of different quality and character. The paper follows the development of the printing industry in Zenica from the publication of the first paper in 1920 until the end of the 20th century, and tries to determine the context of the emergence and disappearance of individual newspapers that were published in this city.
