Summary/Abstract: The article is discussing the presence of three ceramic moulds depicting chariot racing scenes in the sanctuary of Liber Pater from Roman Apulum (presentday Alba Iulia, Romania) by taking into consideration their morphology, iconographyand context of discovery. It is thus argued that, besides their primaryfunction as practical tools, the moulds also gained another unexpected quality asmagical instr uments for conjuring the good luck.
