Summary/Abstract: Even if European private international law represents the origin of numerous fundamental conflicting solutions, the legal world is not limited to the European space and there are numerous interesting developments across the ocean in the American space. The great scheme of conflicting rules remains constant – first, ascertaining the applicable law of the agreement by the parties’ will and second, ascertaining subsidiary solutions applicable when such a will has not been expressed.
