Summary/Abstract: The cult of icons and paintings has a long and pious tradition in over two-thousand years of the Church history. Such an act of praise is also experienced by the miraculous image of the Crucified Jesus and Our Lady of Sorrows from Brzozdowce. The painting, which has been worshiped since the 17th century, at first, only in the local parish church, later in the entire so-called Recovered Territories, continues to awake sublime and godly feelings in Catholic believers. This article concerns the cult of the Holy Image, which, at first, occurred in the parish church in Brzozdowce, and now exists also in the Co-Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Kamień Pomorski, where it was brought during the deportation by the parishioners of Brzozdowiec. The paper presents the history of the village, parish and church in which the holy image was placed for almost 300 years. Manifestations of the cult and initiatives taken on this account are also presented. The phenomenon of the painting is that it has become not only an object of prayers, but also an icon of faith and heritage of the ancestors of the land of Brzozdowce. Special devotion of only the few current inhabitants of Brzozdowce and their descendants testifies to the love of God and intense Polish patriotism. The painting still ga-thers with it numerous crowds of believers who desire to receive the abundance of God's gifts for themselves and their loved ones.
