Summary/Abstract: Postmodernism is a contemporary philosophical direction that affects, among others, trends in pedagogical sciences, and so it influences the upbringing process as well. An alternative to postmodern ideas is the Christian model of education based on traditional values and the importance of authorities, especially wise parents and educators. The family is a very important environment for shaping moral attitudes and for education for proper media reception.
