Summary/Abstract: The number of violated and discriminated women in Kosovo has increased in the recent years and as a result also the number of divorces has increased. Even though the laws provide equal gender, a significant number of women have encountered injustice during the division of joint property in marriage, which has imposed the change of family law, through which is done the division of joint property of spouse. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the effectiveness of changing the law that has been made in favor of unemployed women and how it will have an effect on their well-being after divorce. Also, it will assess how this law will be interpreted by judicial bodies and whether this will be a disadvantageous law amendment for women working in public or private sectors, as they work outside the home and make a significant contribution to home affairs. The data to be used will be qualitative obtained from already published documents and data obtained from women who are undergoing or have passed the divorce procedure, the experiences they had and the rights they have earned.
