Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the present paper is to analyze the evolution of prices and wages in the first four decades of the twentieth century in Romania. The interwar period is often regarded as a kind of Golden Age of Romania. The reality was completely different, Romani, a a predominantly rural and agrarian country, faced many problems from social and economic to financial ones. The present study will analyze both the evolution of prices and wages, as well as their index and it also includes a short case study on interwar prices in the cities of Bacau, Piatra Neamț and Roman.
