Summary/Abstract: The paper looks at the selected threats to human health and life that can be found in the water environment, focalising on drowning and hypothermia. It offers a detailed profile of the threats and rescue actions taken to help victims of drowning, and those suffering from hypothermia. The paper also aims to systematise the knowledge about the possible threats, and to raise public awareness of providing appropriate help and assistance to the victims.
