Socialization and political communication. Observations on the Moldo-Wallachian meeting from Mânjina (1845)

Summary/Abstract: This article explores the extent to which certain forms of sociability, in this case a meeting from Mânjina, and cultural association represented milieus that favored the political communication among the forty-eighters from Moldavia and Wallachia in the period previous to 1848. Also, it focuses on the manner in which the personal, cultural and political connections established in these contexts contributed to the creation of a “community of ideas” that generated an ideologically coherent national discourse.
