Summary/Abstract: The article introduces educational projects for primary school children that have been successfully carried out in selected schools from several Slovak regions. The presentation focuses on beekeeping and on well-known Slovenian tradition in this area that has been recognized not only in Slovenia but also as a part of European cultural and natural heritage. The Slovenian Ministry of Agriculture has launched an educational event called Honey Breakfast, mediating the importance of bees not only from environmental but also from nutritional and health aspects. Thanks to the support of the Embassy of Slovenian Republic in Slovakia and the lectorate of Slovenian language at Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Bratislava, as well as the Slovak Association of Beekeepers, this event has also been established in Slovakia.
